How did these famous Chinese celebrate Spring festival 1. Wang Xizi (303- 361 or 321 - 379)
Wang Xizi is the greatest calligrapher in China. Every Spring festival he wrote 80 "Blessing" and 20 "Longivity" as presents to the persons visitting him on the festival. His calligraphy was one of the most precious gifts one could get at that time.

2. Zhang Hen (78 - 139)
Zhang Hen is the inventor of the famous Chang's seismograph. Every Spring festival he took with food package to the seismograph to study the sky, while others celebrated the festival happily. He said that the astronomy is complicate in the festival period and worthy to be studied carefully.

3. Bei Juyi (772 - 846)
Bei Juyi is a famous poet in Tang dynasty. Every Spring festival he transcribed all the poems he wrote in the old year, and burn them. After he burned the poems, he praied devoutly: "the poets in another world, please read the poems carefully and tell me where you are not satisfied with". His infatuation to poetical works is removable.

4. Du Pu (712 - 770)
Du Pu is one of the best poets in Chinese history, however, he was poor whole his life. He had often problems to provide enough food to himself and his family. He was very thrifty generally, but on Spring festival, he was used to spend a little more money on drinking. He drank until he was totally full. Forgetting the tough real life was probably the best way for him to celebrate Spring festival.

5. Su Dongpo (1037 - 1101)
Su Dongpo is one of the best poets in Chinese history. He was also an unfortunate official, and had to spend almost all his Spring festival holidays on the place where he was exiled to. He usually spent his free time on studying, traveling and writting poems. On Spring festival holidays, he wrote poems every night. He said it was the best way for him to alluviate his missing to his family.

6. Guan Hanqing (1219 - 1301)
Guan Hanqing is the best playwrights in ancient China. Every Spring festival he must walk on stilts, and the height of the stilts must be higher than the last year. He called this as "striving for further improvement". When he was 70 years old, he still held the habit. His family was very afraid of that he got hurt with the dangerous habit, but he lived longer and were more healthy than most ancient Chinese.
